Stop by the McGuire Theater for a unique opportunity to experience Theaster Gates’ stage set/art installation for Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s red, black & GREEN: a blues. The set, made of repurposed building materials and clay objects, complements the exhilarating new Walker-commissioned performance, which questions collective responsibility and is designed to jump-start conversations about environmental justice and social ecology. Gates is a visual artist and inaugural director of arts and public life at the University of Chicago.
