Your summer soundtrack starts now. Rock the Garden returns with a five-band lineup of killer live music to jumpstart the season of sun and outdoor sounds. The day kicks off with the brash surf pop from local upstarts Howler. Tune-Yards brings their “curious, ingenious, and often irresistible” (New York Times) chart-topping antic art rock, followed by local supergroup Doomtree, with their hyperliterate boundary-pushing hip-hop and wall of beats. Trampled by Turtles unplugs and joins the party with their supercharged bluegrass at breakneck speed. The evening ends fists to the sky with the anthemic new classic rock of hometown heroes (by way of Brooklyn) the Hold Steady, “one of the best live shows in rock” (Rolling Stone).
With the Current DJs hosting the live broadcast and spinning between bands; local beer vendors and food trucks offering a wide range of choices, and the best setting for an outdoor rock show in the upper Midwest, Rock the Garden brings the community together–rain or shine.
