The Narrow Frame of Midnight

Sold from her home in the Atlas Mountains to a petty criminal traveling with his girlfriend, orphan Aïcha plans her escape. This closing film of Mizna’s Twin Cities Arab Film Festival tells a moving story about politics, compassion, and hope as the journey takes them across Morocco, Istanbul, and the plains of Kurdistan. 2015, DCP, in Arabic and French with English subtitles, 93 minutes.
