An extended contemplation on being, Wail Song: wading in the water at the end of the world takes the form of a multiform long poem to contend with the role Black abjection has in constructing both humans and the animals. Taking place in the belly of the whale, at the end of the world, Wail Song asks how deep are we willing to wade in the water with Blackness?

Poet and sound artist Chaun Webster will read from their new manuscript Wail Song: wading in the water at the end of the world, which is forthcoming from Black Ocean Books.

This program will have ASL interpretation.
