FUTURITY, a new music-theater piece by Brooklyn indie-rock band the Lisps, melds traditional Americana, Brechtian choral elements, and avant-rock, resulting in a unique and compelling portrait of war, human imagination, and technological hubris. The work’s creators—César Alvarez (singer/guitarist and writer), Emily Orling (visual/production designer), and Eric Farber (percussionist and mechanical percussion designer)—discuss the making of their Walker-commissioned project with Philip Bither, McGuire Senior Curator of Performing Arts.
