A week of Abstract Resistance programs, starting TONIGHT

Anthony Caro, Sculpture Three (1962)

The exhibition Abstract Resistance opens this weekend, which means that the Walker has a house full of artists. Here to install their work during the day, Thomas Hirschhorn and Gedi Sibony have agreed to give talks during their “free time” in the evening.

Try to catch these lectures happening at our sister institutions around town:

TONIGHT! Tuesday, February 23,   6:30 pm, FREE

Artist Talk: Thomas Hirschhorn

Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Auditorium 150

Thursday, February 25, 7 pm, FREE

Artist Talk: Gedi Sibony

University of Minnesota Department of Art, Regis Center, INFLUX Room

And don’t forget about the opening day conversation “On Art and Discomfort” with exhibition curator Yasmil Raymond and artist, philosopher and University of Minnesota professor Jan Estep this Saturday.

And if that isn’t enough, we have one more for you. On this Saturday night, curator and professor of film, vidoe, and new media Bruce Jenkins will be here to introduce a screening of Hollis Frampton’s seven-part film work Hapax Legomena–one section of which is on display in Abstract Resistance.
