Copresented by the Walker Art Center and AIGA Minnesota, the Insights design lecture series brings leading designers from around the world to the Walker to share the thinking, methods, and processes behind their work. The talks will be webcast live on the Walker Channel and archived for future viewing. In addition to their talks, this year’s designers were each asked to investigate a “surface” of the Walker: the inside, the outside, the virtual, the social. Geoff McFetridge is creating a giant mural that wraps the Walker’s perimeter while it is under construction. Job Wouters—aka Letman—is creating an indoor mural with the word “HOME”—welcoming visitors to the Walker. Eike König of Berlin studio Hort will be creating a piece specifically for the Walker website. And Luna Maurer, of Moniker, will be performing a social experiment with her lecture audience.
