One of my jobs as the WAC education coordinator in the early 1970s was writing scripts for multi-screen programs about the work of artists featured in exhibitions. At the opening for Ellsworth Kelly’s 1974 retrospective exhibition, which he attended, he asked to watch the program about him with the person who wrote it. Gulp! When the lights came up, he told me how much he liked it. Whew! Then he paused and said, “And only one of the images was upside down.” Ouch!
