This photo is from a collaboration that mnartists.org did with Bad at Sports (from Chicago) and Cargo Collective (from the interwebs). We knew they wanted to bring a bus to Open Field and have some sort of tailgating event while interviewing artists. We thought they’d park the bus Vineland and have the event there. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a day that a construction crane was parked there, making the bus practically invisible. I asked for help, and got a 100% supportive response: put it on the field! It turned out to be the perfect visual centerpiece to the night’s events. If there’s going to be a pile of wood chips on Open Field, why not drive a bus onto them?
