Just 15 minutes north of downtown Minneapolis, a high-security area (rarely open to the public) stewarded by the Minnesota National Guard is now being restored as a habitat for native plant and animal species. Monson and her dancers will perform an intuitive flocking dance at the foot of a pond in a former quarry site. The panel discussion that follows addresses issues of land preservation and reuse and includes representatives from the Sierra Club, the National Guard, the Phil Steger Depleted Uranium Group, and the City of Arden Hills, moderated by Dee Long, former Minnesota Speaker of the House and now lobbyist with Minnesotans for an Energy-Efficient Economy.
