Discover the Next Generation of Twin Cities Choreographers

Now in its third year, the popular Momentum series has become a staple for both choreographers and audiences, providing a snapshot of Minnesota’s dance landscape that illuminates the skill and passion of the next generation’s most promising artists. Featuring two companies each evening, Momentum showcases a rich spectrum of styles and voices that solidifies the Twin Cities’ burgeoning reputation as a hotbed of fresh, experimental, and often overlooked talent. Each company will present new work, commissioned by the Walker and the Southern with the support of the Jerome Foundation.

Funding

  • Momentum: New Dance Works is made possible by generous support from the Jerome Foundation. Sangam is made possible in part by funds from the Jerome Foundation, an Arts Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, a Community Arts Partnership grant from COMPAS, and a bush foundation choreography fellowship.

Walker without Walls is made possible by generous support from Target. Additional support for this program is provided by the Walker’s Doris Duke Fund for Jazz and Dance.
