In 2006, a four-acre garden will be added to the west side of the Walker’s new building. Designed by landscape architect Michel Desvigne as part of the expansion project, this green space will provide a serene balance to the bustle of Hennepin Avenue on the building’s east side. In the meantime, you can create your own sculpture garden in Walker on Wheels. Stop by after a tour to help imagine and build a 4-by-8-foot model. Using a wide variety of materials that changes weekly, construct a sculpture, design a pathway, or do some landscaping. Visit each week to see the progress of this collective ongoing project. Open to all ages.
