Artists and Architects

What can artists and architects learn from each other? How are the two disciplines integrated? How do we find each other when there are public art opportunities? Art Talk is an ongoing series of programs presented by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, mnartists.org, the Walker Art Center, and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum. Join us for a panel discussion about working issues among artists, architects, and landscape architects.

Participants are Kinji Akagawa, public artist and professor of fine art at MCAD; Regina Flanagan, artist, landscape architect, and former director of the Minnesota Percent for Art in Public Places; Rebecca Krinke, sculptor and associate professor of landscape architecture at the University of Minnesota; Garth Rockcastle, founding principal architect with MSR, Ltd. and dean of architecture, planning, and preservation at the University of Maryland, College Park. The panel is moderated by Karen Wirth, artist and chair of fine arts at MCAD.
