Gallery Talk with Jason Moran: Sounds like Adrian Piper

For acclaimed young composer and pianist Jason Moran, an interest in the Walker’s permanent collection, and the work of Adrian Piper in particular, led to the creation of a new composition and performance. The result is the theatrical jazz suite entitled Milestone, informed by his recent study of Piper’s photographic work, The Mythic Being: I/You (Her) (1974), and integrates its conceptual framework.
