Stories with Sara

Celebrate summer’s last sizzle with a special storytelling event. Comic-book artist Sara Varon visits the Walker to share her characters’ adventures and some of the books and films that spark her imagination. Activities are recommended for all ages and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Story Time: Animal Tales

11 am, 12:30 and 2:30 pm

Growing up in suburban Chicago, Sara Varon dreamed of becoming a zookeeper or veterinarian. Now she spends most of her time with animals she’s brought to life in her comic books. Meet the characters in her story Alphabet Sandwiches, then listen as she reads from children’s books that have inspired her work. Stick around after the readings for a book-signing.
