In their collaborative work, artist Tomás Saraceno and writer Alberto Pesavento use principles from engineering, physics, aeronautics and sustainable architecture to demonstrate the limitless possibilities when solar and human energy combine. As artists-in-residence at the Walker Art Center, the pair will present Museo aero solar, a solar-powered air balloon made from thousands of reused plastic bags that is reassembled in different cities. The Bell Museum and the Walker Art Center are partnering to present a Cafe Scientifique discussion on art and aeronautics with Saraceno, Pesavento and University of Minnesota researchers.
The Bell Museum’s Cafe Scientifique is a happy hour exchange of ideas about science, environment and popular culture. For more information visit
