In conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the Walker Art Center and mnartists.org welcome the return of Artist-Designed Mini Golf in summer 2013!
Art and architecture merge with miniature golf in this open call for designers to create holes for the Walker’s third installment of this ever-popular activity—a unique nine-hole course, which runs on-site from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Individuals entering mini-golf hole designs for consideration must be based in Minnesota and registered with mnartists.org; entrants may include artists, architects, engineers, landscape architects, furniture designers, etc. Visit mnartists.org for complete details about submitting a design.
The info session on November 8 is highly recommended for anyone interested in constructing a proposal or learning more about the development of the project. Guest hosts at the event include mini-golf experts Tom Loftus and Robin Schwartzman, who’ve been charting successful and not-so-successful holes nationally through their blog A Couple of Putts.
