Gallery admission is free for everyone on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 5 pm, with a variety of family activities scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm.
Activity: Shimmer and Shine

Join artist Margaret Pezalla Granlund as she transforms the Art Lab and ingeniously investigates light. Wander through a luminous forest, play with infinite reflections, and witness the world in new and different ways. Materials provided by Lyle Signs, Inc.
Activity: Light It Up!
Cargill Lounge, 10 am–3 pm
Design your own brilliant structure using lights and a variety of transparent materials. This activity is led by arts instructor Alexandra Waters.

A rare treat for the whole family. Get the inside scoop on electronic music and experimental performance from a legendary musician and composer. Laurie Anderson is a poet, visual artist, filmmaker, and a music pioneer who also invents ingenious gadgets. Did you know she was NASA’s first artist-in-residence? Anderson shares secrets about creating her unique musical sounds for violin and voice.
Note: This workshop is intended chiefly for children under age 18; adults must be accompanied by a minor.
