This eye-opening documentary examines Israel’s Supreme Court decisions since the 1967 Six-Day War between Israel and its Arab neighbors. The film is “not about the people who broke the law, but about those entrusted with the law,” says director Ra’anan Alexandrowicz of his commanding and compassionate look at the moral and legal contradictions sustained by Israel and the occupied territories. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, The Law in These Parts (Shilton Ha Chok) received the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize. 2011, video, 101 minutes.
