Sō Percussion: Where (we) Live

“Time and again … you found yourself smiling in a quiet amazement that could verge on disbelief.” —New York Times

Experimental powerhouse So Percussion enlists a fresh mix of collaborators for the premiere of a potent, poetic new work. Swirling together movement and video projections amid So’s exacting, exhilarating percussive scores Where (we) Live explores the many meanings of home, tapping emotions embedded in places both physical and symbolic.

Collaborators include New York City–based playwright/director/actor Ain Gordon, Minneapolis-based director/choreographer Emily Johnson, electronic music/video artist Martin Schmidt (experimental pop duo Matmos), Brooklyn-based indie-rock guitarist/composer Grey McMurray, and a special Twin Cities guest artist each night: artist/musician Katelyn Farstad on Friday; comic artist/publisher/bassist Zak Sally on Saturday.

Copresented with the National Performance Network (NPN).
