Named “One of the Best New Restaurants of the Year” by Mpls./St. Paul and Minnesota Monthly magazines, Gather features a happy hour and full bar with an innovative specialty cocktail menu every Thursday night. Guest chefs unveil specially created small plates at tastings on the first Thursday of each month. On January 5, join Chef Saul Chavez from MASA, an acclaimed chef with a passion for generations-old traditional Mexican recipes.
Chef Chavez will be preparing samples of two items featured on Gather’s January menu:
Carne Cruda (cold): seared beef tenderloin marinated with pasilla and ancho chiles, served with pepito pesto, purple cress, and radish salad
Sope con Pato (hot): fresh masa sope with duck confit in mole Colorado, mashed ripe plantain, crema anejo, and cotija cheese
$5 Featured Specialty Cocktail: The Kings’ Krystal
The featured happy hour drink for January’s tasting event is The Kings’ Krystal, a libation created by Gather mixologist Josh Reigert in celebration of Mexico’s Three Kings Day.
