Join artist Alec Soth and writer Brad Zellar at the Walker for a discussion in conjunction with their new book House of Coates (Coffee House Press). Originally published as a limited-edition artists’ book, this illustrated novel is now available in a trade format. The story focuses on Lester B. Morrison, a legendary recluse washed up in the shadow of a refinery, and documents his life in a series of photographs taken with a disposable camera. In a landscape of off ramps, warehouses, and SRO hotels occupied by terminally lonely men, love and faith break in, quietly offering human connection and the possibility of redemption.
This event is free and capacity is limited; free tickets are available at the Bazinet Garden Lobby desk from 2 pm. A book signing follows in the Hennepin Lobby/Walker Shop.
