Formed in Mogadishu in the 1980s, Dur-Dur Band was one of the most famous acts in the Somali music scene at the time. Known as Somalia’s “last great party band,” the group disbanded in the early 1990s when civil war forced the musicians into exile, cutting off the ensemble in its prime.
