Lecture and Off-site Exhibition: Tokyo Type Directors Club

The Tokyo Type Directors Club’s annual competition is a touchstone for the world’s leading art directors, designers, and typographers, celebrating the spirit of typography and encouraging experimentation. The Walker is one of several Twin Cities organizations partnering with Concordia University on its 2014 Leaders of Design series, featuring the Tokyo Type Directors Club Exhibition, which presents 150 pieces from the 2014 competition.

On October 15, join exhibition juror Jon Forss (one half of the design studio Non-Format) and Ryan Hageman (founder of Gurafiku, a website dedicated to the history of Japanese graphic design) for a ticketed discussion in the Buetow Music Center Auditorium at Concordia University in St. Paul. A free public reception follows at Concordia’s Art Center Gallery, courtesy of Target.

The exhibition is on view Monday–Friday, October 13–31, 10 am–4 pm at the Concordia Art Center Gallery. More information is available here.
