Enjoy free gallery admission and family fun for all on the first Saturday of each month. Activities designed for kids ages 6 to 12 are offered from 10 am to 3 pm.
Performance: The Ugly Duckling–My Life as a Fairytale, 11 am and 1 pm
Hans Christian Andersen and his tale The Ugly Duckling are brought to life in this imaginative and playful performance that features quacking scissors, transforming coffee pots, and an assemblage of other found objects. Director Michael Sommers and performer Kimberly Richardson of Open Eye Figure Theatre collaboratively created this inventive play.
Art-Making: Stories to Remember, 10 am–3 pm

Learn the basics of book-making as you illustrate a journal with rubber stamp letters and shapes.
Art-Making: Type Face, 10 am–3 pm
Make a typographic self-portrait by mixing and matching old-school transfer letters with graphic designer Kindra Murphy of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Children become junior tour guides by learning top-secret tips from art experts and reciting an oath. Newly initiated guides try out their skills by leading a gallery tour guaranteed to captivate family and friends.
