Claymation Classics: Aardman 40th-Anniversary Retrospective Program

See a number of short films that show how Aardman Animations has evolved over the course of its 40 years, from creating claymation by hand on a tabletop to using highly technical CG-augmentation. One constant? The studio’s ability to bring unforgettable stories to life through its brilliantly charming characters.

This special anniversary retrospective features classic shorts such as Peter Lord’s Grand Morph’s Home Movies (1981), Nick Park’s Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers (1993), and Jay Grace’s Shaun the Sheep 3DTV (2014). The lineup also includes samplings of Purple & Brown, Creature Comforts, and commercial wor as well as the original cel-animated Aardman cartoon, with its comic portrayal of an inept superhero. 2016, digital, 90 minutes.
