In this workshop, Buenos Aires–based choreographer Luis Garay dives between philosophical questions and the (absurd) pure action: exercise, sports, labor, and meditation. He will begin with a short discussion about his work and the key themes he explores, followed by group exercises. Garay’s works explore realms of extreme physical experiences and ambient performance. During the class, the artist and participants will investigate ideas and concepts about his latest creations and develop exercises around what has been exposed. Everyone is welcome. Limited to 30 participants.
Garay’s works have been presented recently in Panorama Festival, Rio de Janeiro, Pompidou Metz, TAP Poitiers, Vooruit Gent, Theatre Cite International Paris, Ballhaus Naunystrasse Berlin, Montpellier Danse Festival, Kyoto Experiment, Wienner Festwochen, Sesc Sao Paulo, ADF USA, Madrid Autum Festival, and Malta Festival Poland, among others.
