Join us for a screening and discussion with artist Park McArthur, whose work is in the Walker exhibition Question the Wall Itself. Using everyday materials that often carry signs of movement, McArthur constructs sculptural environments that draw upon her reliance on caregivers to aid in her daily mobility.
This program begins in the Bentson Mediatheque with a screening of excerpts from the documentary Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years 1984 to 1992, directed by Dagmar Schultz. After the screening, McArthur and Walker education curator Daniel Atkinson will talk about her artistic practice and her work in the show.
For this lecture, the artist will be present remotely through live-stream video connection.
The talk will take place in the Bentson Mediatheque, which can be accessed via the Lower Level (with automatic push buttons) or Level 1. This talk will feature ASL interpretation and open captioning.
