Over the course of 40-plus years, the Walker’s Choreographers’ Evening has offered an exciting range of Minnesota dance reflective of the guest curator lens and of the cohort of choreographers they bring together. Showcasing emerging and established dancemakers forging new ideas, this cherished event has become an honored rite of passage in Minnesota dance circles. Choreographers’ Evening 2017 features: Gabriel Anderson, Charles Campbell with Ted Moore, DaNCEBUMS, KUDETA, Pedro Pablo Lander, Billy Mullaney, Alys Ayumi Ogura, Jordan Rosenow, Erin Search-Wells, and Vie Boheme & Maleek Washington. Their pieces range from humorous to political, from abstract to literal, solos to group work, with choreography rooted in contemporary, hip-hop, and improvisational dance aesthetic.

Curator Megan Mayer is a widely respected local choreographer, photographer, and video artist.

ASL-Interpreted Performance

The 9:30 pm performance will be ASL-interpreted. Patrons interested in using the interpreter should select tickets in the front, stage-left section of the theater.
