Please join us in the McGuire Theatre for a free screening of the documentary Valuing Lives: Wolf Wolfensberger and the Principle of Normalization, followed by discussion.

A limited number of free tickets will be available at the Hennepin Box Office beginning at 5 pm.

Valuing Lives explores the concept of normalization—an idea that challenged our fundamental assumptions about people with intellectual disabilities—and the iconoclastic professor who trained thousands of human services professionals in its theory and practice. Colleen Wieck, executive director of the MN Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, will provide opening remarks. A panel discussion, featuring Beth Mount and Guy Caruso and moderated by director Jerry Smith, will follow the film. Produced by the Research and Training Center on Community Living at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration. The film is open captioned and ASL interpretation will be provided.
