“If you can think of it, it exists somewhere.” —David Byrne

As he drifts through malls, nightclubs, and factories, an array of colorful characters tells stories inspired by tabloid headlines. In late 2018, Byrne helped supervise the film’s restored 4K digital transfer and the new surround sound audio as well as the release of the complete soundtrack for the first time. With music from the Talking Heads, Kronos Quartet, Meredith Monk, Tito Larriva, and a local elementary school choir. This satirical comedy also features Swoosie Kurtz, John Goodman, gospel singer Pops Staples, and Spalding Gray. 1986/2018, 4K DCP, 90 min.
