Artist and instructor Leslie Barlow is currently working around the clock to help create murals at various sites throughout Minneapolis, as well as being involved in other responsive community work. We are still grieving and processing the murder of George Floyd, and at this time it is too soon to resume our previously scheduled programming. Thank you for your interest in this workshop—our goal is to reschedule at a later date, yet to be determined.
While we can’t meet together in person right now, we can join artist and instructor Leslie Barlow online for a drawing session! You have more art materials around your house than you might imagine—just a piece of paper and a pencil will do. Chris Nolt of Wet Paint will give us a quick rundown of other household items that double as art supplies if you don’t already have yours ready to go.
Q&A
What is the difference between a drawing session and a drawing class?
Unlike a class, this event runs more like a traditional life drawing session: there will be minimal guidance from the instructor, but she will lead you through a series of timed poses with the models. There will also be a short drawing demo from 7 to 7:15 pm for beginners.
What do I need?
A piece of paper and a pencil are enough! Nolt will give you a sense of what household materials you can use if you do not already have art supplies at home.
What will we be drawing?
We have two models who will be fully clothed.
