Every Wednesday, we’re going live on Instagram with artists from around the world! In conversation with Walker curators, they’ll discuss the issues that matter right now.
On May 27 at 12 noon (CDT) Nisa Mackie, director of Education and Public Programs, will speak with Des Moines–based artist Jordan Weber, who has been an artist-in-residence at the Walker for the past year. Weber will discuss his forthcoming public art piece, his research on environmental justice issues in various midwestern cities, and community organizing in the time of COVID-19.
At 1 pm (CDT), Nisa Mackie will be joined by artist, educator, designer, and @walkerteens artist-in-residence Nancy Nowacek, who crafts participatory platforms and social encounters with different publics as a way of examining the complex systems that form modern life. She will share thoughts on Zoom teaching, social form, revising her projects in response to New York’s shutdown, and quarantine pro-tips.
Follow us on Instagram @walkerartcenter and never miss a conversation. There’s a new topic every week, so tune in and stay connected.
