We’re getting hygge-with-it this Winter at the Walker! Treat yourself to some color therapy with free gallery admission. Trek through the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden on snowshoes (courtesy of the Center for Outdoor Adventure at the University of Minnesota) and reacquaint yourself with the sculptures under a wintery night sky and the glowing city skyline. Cozy up in our Main Lobby–turned–warming house with a drink and fun crafts.
Inside you’ll find cocktails, free galleries, and snowshoe sign-up, as well as felting with Textile Center of Minnesota and wintry-themed films with the Bentson Mediatheque playlist Hit the North.
Trek outside for Moonlight Snowshoe Tours of Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (at 6 and 7:30 pm) plus fire pits on winter patio, sledding and snow games, and clean winter air under starry skies!
On January 30, join the Great Northern for a special presentation of wintry films reminding us why we love the cold North and why we need to keep the North cold. Victor Kossakovsky’s tour-de-force Aquarela screens at 7 pm in the Walker Cinema. Preceded by The Emergency Brake (Macy How, 2019, 5 min.). Plus, grab s’mores from Minnesota-based North Mallow.
