Tree Time: Take Two

It’s spring! Let’s head out into the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to check out new life. Professor Karen Lutsky of the Great Lakes Design Lab takes us on a journey of observing the ever-changing nature of tree life. A continuation of the October digital workshop, Tree Time, we’ll engage in the temporal and spatial scales of trees, helping us to gain insight into our relationships with them and into our own perspectives and approaches to the non-human world. As some of the oldest and longest living entities on earth, trees are accessible touchstones to our pasts and critical for our futures.

In an effort to help participants better recognize and consider “tree time,” this workshop will offer up a series of prompts for participants to respond to. Prompts will also be posted online, so if you’re not ready to leave the house yet, you don’t have to!

This free, outdoor, self-guided, drop-in event allows for a shared physically distanced experience. We provide the supplies, and you bring the sense of wonder as you explore the natural world around you.

The galleries are open too! Free tickets for gallery admission are available and must be reserved in advance.
