Artist Talk: Autumn Knight

During her cross-department residency to develop a new performance, join Autumn Knight for an onstage artist conversation with Moving Image curator Pablo de Ocampo. Summoning pop cultural icons such as Eddie Murphy, Knight will riff on intersecting interests in comedy, performance, and audience through the themes of opacity and refusal.

Autumn Knight is an interdisciplinary artist working with performance, installation, video, and text. Her video and performance work has been viewed within several institutions, including the New Museum, New York; Western Front, Vancouver; Akademie der Kunste, Berlin; On the Boards, Seattle; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and the Kitchen, New York. Her performance and video work is held in the collection of the Studio Museum in Harlem. Knight is a recent recipient of the Nancy B. Negley Rome Prize.
