Imagine this: unforgettable music from three of the leading voices in contemporary jazz, outdoors, as the sun sets. And yes, it’s free. Sonic visionaries Dave King, Jeff Parker, and Chris Speed (known from the Bad Plus, Happy Apple, and Tortoise) offer an evening of fresh sounds with their striking new trio. A highlight of the sounds, words, and activities at the Walker this summer, this special concert on the hillside will captivate and inspire with its improvisatory ingenuity. Come for a convivial night of music on the hillside from these dynamic artists.

The Walker’s Cardamom restaurant will be open until 9 pm for food and drinks and is accepting reservations for inside and patio dining. They’ll also be offering grab and go food options and large Faribault blanket rentals for proper picnicking on the hill.

Please check back closer to the date for program details and current COVID-19 guidelines. For weather updates, please call the box office at 612-375-7600.

Gallery admission tickets must be reserved separately, quantities are limited. Galleries close at 5 pm on Sundays. Mask-wearing is encouraged indoors for visitors ages 2 and older.

There will be two accessible seating spaces on level grassy areas on the hillside—one at the bottom of the hill and one halfway up the hill. These spaces are next to a paved path and will have chairs for people who need them. Staff members stationed around the hillside will be able to assist with accessible seating.
