Thursdays at Sadie Barnette’s The New Eagle Creek Saloon

A red and purple bar installation. Eagle creek Neon sign above.

The New Eagle Creek Saloon is an immersive installation, inviting visitors to hold space for Black resistance and pleasure.

Every Thursday night from March 7 to May 19, visitors to the Walker will be able to experience artist Sadie Barnette’s reanimation of her father’s historic San Francisco bar, The New Eagle Creek Saloon.

Take a seat, have a drink, and experience the Barnette family’s legacy of Black queer joy. Thursday night programming ranges from casual happy hours to vibrant dance parties. Each event is hosted by local Black creators dedicated to preserving the influence of marginalized communities on local Twin Cities nightlife.

The New Eagle Creek Saloon programming is hosted in partnership with Mama San Bar Collective, founded on the premise of inclusive bartending. Mama San will host specially crafted cocktails inspired by community. Bar opens each Thursday at 5 pm.

Everyone is welcome. Must be 21+ for alcohol. The program is free, but space is limited. Check individual evenings for programming details.
