Join community members, Circle members, and the artist to celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Dyani White Hawk: Love Language. Dyani White Hawk’s (Sičáŋǧu Lakota, b. 1976) art centers on connection—between one another, past and present, earth and sky. By foregrounding Lakota forms and motifs, she challenges prevailing histories and practices surrounding abstract art. Featuring paintings, sculptures, video installations, and more, Love Language gathers 15 years of the artist’s work in this major survey.
Come for a first look at the exhibition, enjoy light bites from Brian Yazzie (Diné), and hear from Dyani White Hawk during the special evening.
Opening Ceremony: 5:30–6:30 pm
Remarks, Exhibition, and Reception: 6:30–8:30 pm
