Join curator Christine Y. Kim for a conversation with artist Christine Sun Kim as they discuss the newly opened exhibition Christine Sun Kim: All Day All Night. For this opening-day talk, they will take cues from works in the exhibition to explore topics such as collaborating across disciplines, challenging conventions of language and communication, and the social and political dimensions of sound.
This event requires a free ticket. Reserve your ticket in advance. Admission is limited and entry is first come, first served. After registering online, you will receive a QR code to present at the Cinema entrance. Day-of tickets will be available for pick-up at the front desk on Saturday. We encourage you to arrive early.

Christine Sun Kim (b. 1980, Orange County, CA) earned an MFA in painting at New York’s School of Visual Arts (2006) and an MFA in Sound and Music at Bard College (2013). Based in Berlin, Kim has exhibited and performed internationally, at the Whitney Museum of American Art (2025), Gwangju Biennale (2023), Secession, Vienna (2023), and MoMA PS1 (2015), among many others. Her awards include the MIT Media Lab Fellowship, United States Artists Fellowship, and the Prix International d’Art Contemporain. Her works are in major collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate, London; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York
Based in Los Angeles, Christine Y. Kim is the Britton Family Curator-at-Large of North American Art at Tate Modern, London (2022–present). Prior to her role at Tate, she was curator of contemporary art at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (LACMA) (2009–21), where she organized Black American Portraits (2022–23), Julie Mehretu (2019–22), and James Turrell: A Retrospective (2013–14). Kim was a curator at the Studio Museum in Harlem (2000–08), where she organized exhibitions such as Freestyle (2001), Flow (2008), Henry Taylor: Sis and Bra (2007), and Black Belt (2005). Upcoming guest-curated projects include Minor Feelings (2027) at LACMA, and sister dreamer, lauren’s halsey’s architectural ode to tha surge n splurge of south central los angeles (2026–27) presented by Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND), which she cofounded in 2009. Kim serves on the Boards of GYOPO, Museums Moving Forward, and Denniston Hill.
