From Edition Staeck, 1/7/97: "During the years 1977-1984 J. Beuys collected a big sortiment of so called "Wirtschaftswerte". It consisted of many different articles of different usage mostly of origin of German Democratic Republic. The number of copies of the article sranged from 1 to 10. In 1984 J. Beuys chose out of his collection most articles which he arranged as a big installation in the Museum of Hedendaagse Kunst in Ghent, Belgium. The rest of the articles which he didn't use for the installation he signed as "Wirtschaftswert" and it was distributed then piece for piece."
