The Walker places the highest priority on the Visitor Experience and strives to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who visit this remarkable institution. All front-line teams share responsibility for greeting our visitors and providing assistance in ways that support extraordinary experiences and repeat visits.
The Walker seeks part-time, contracted Gallery Assistants to circulate through our galleries and public spaces, greeting and acknowledging visitors while protecting the Walker’s collection. Gallery Assistants check for admission tabs, provide information or directions, enforce visitor guidelines and assure safety, as well as perform procedural duties as required.
This work is contracted through Common Sense Building Services (CSBS); these positions are not employed through the Walker Art Center. We have multiple immediate openings and are also looking to maintain a pool of qualified for periodic employment throughout the year.
Qualifications include a good work history, high dependability, professional demeanor and a strong customer service orientation. Must have proven ability to work with a wide range of personalities and people across a variety of generations. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Interest in Walker programming and events preferred.
HOURS: 15 – 28 hours per week; Must have consistent availability for daytime, weekend, and some evening scheduling.
WAGE: $10.55 per hour
