Every year, the Walker relies on the generous contributions of community stakeholders to advance its celebrated artistic and educational programs. Support from these patrons allows the institution to focus on its mission to be a catalyst for the creative expression of artists and the active engagement of audiences.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, U.S. Bank stands out as a valued partner to the Walker. Over the years, the museum has benefited greatly from the company’s support as well as the guidance of executives who have served on the board of trustees. The institution is thrilled to recognize this sustained commitment by welcoming U.S. Bank as its inaugural Lead Partner. “U.S. Bank is both excited and honored to contribute to the Walker in this new capacity,” says Walker trustee and president of U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management Mark Jordahl. “The bank has proudly supported Walker programs including the exhibitions International Pop, Claes Oldenburg: The Sixties, and Katharina Fritsch: Multiples as well as artist-designed Mini Golf. Now, the company is very happy to be able to undergird all that the Walker does in the community.”

U.S. Bank’s corporate giving and engagement platform is called Community Possible. It focuses on economic development through three pillars: Work, Home, and Play. The company invests in innovative programs designed to serve community needs, and its philanthropic initiatives extend far beyond its support of the Walker. In 2018, U.S. Bank provided $57 million in grants and corporate contributions and donated 209,000 employee volunteer hours, which averages to 550 volunteer hours each day.

“The Walker is fortunate to be part of a community that has truly set the standard for corporate philanthropy,” says the Walker’s executive director, Mary Ceruti. “With the help of our generous supporters, like U.S. Bank, the Walker is able to provide opportunities for all to experience the art of our time.”
