adrienne maree brown is a writer, social justice facilitator, healer, and doula living in Detroit. She is the author of Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds (AK Press, 2017), a handbook inspired by the writings of Octavia Butler and offered as "radical self-help, society-help, and planet-help designed to shape the futures we want to live," and co-editor of the anthology Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction from Social Justice Movements (AK Press, 2015). She is a contributing editor for YES! magazine and facilitator of the Detroit Narrative Agency (DNA). With her sister, Autumn Brown, she co-hosts the podcast How to Survive the End of the World.
