Andy Sturdevant is an writer and artist living in Minneapolis. He has written about art, history, and culture for a variety of Twin Cities–based publications and websites, including City Pages and MinnPost. He's the author of two books of nonfiction. Currently, Andy writes a bimonthly column called "Material World" for Architecture MN magazine. Andy's artwork and artistic projects have been exhibited at The Soap Factory, St. Olaf College, Northwestern College, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, as well as in galleries and spaces in New York City, Chicago, Seattle, and Philadelphia. He also runs Birchwood Palace Industries, a small press that publishes artists books and printed novelties.
