Why did you join the Walker?
Dan: We’ve always loved the Walker. When we first joined, were in our mid-twenties and starting a family, and we wanted to make sure the arts were an integral part of our kids’ childhood experience. We knew that as members we’d be more likely to just drop in and enjoy an hour or two in a gallery.
What do you like about art school?
Dan: In what has become a de facto date night for us, it’s Art School in the after-noon followed by dinner and discussion. The diversity of the presentations has helped introduce us to a broader range of what’s going on in the arts.
Amanda: It’s a great opportunity to be intentional about learning different aspects of the arts and the creative space.
Describe your most memorable Walker visit.
Dan: My favorite memory at the Walker is when I threw a surprise 30th birthday party for Amanda on the Walker lawn. She had no idea. It was awesome.
Amanda: I remember seeing a photo-graph of an overturned chair in a gallery several years ago. Our son, two years old at the time, came home and set up his chair the same way, then asked me to take a photo like the one at the museum.
