Why is the Walker important to you?

I can’t emphasize enough how much the Walker has allowed me to discover new ideas. I’ll be first introduced to an artist at the Walker, then see their work elsewhere or come across another piece influenced by that artist.

Why are you a Walker member?

Civic pride and free admission. I’ve visited every gallery show in the past six years, so the admission benefit has been key. I like knowing I can stop by any time and see exhibitions more than once.

What do you most enjoy about Contemporaries, our membership level for young professionals?

The social events are a great way to uncover new artistic concepts and to meet people interested in art. Reciprocal membership is another great benefit. I organized a trip to New York around museums that have reciprocity with the Walker.

A new season of Art School, our education program just for members, kicks off this month. What do you enjoy most about this benefit?

Art School is valuable for members who wish to learn more before encountering an exhibition, film, or performance and hopefully leaves them with a desire to explore further.
