Danh Vo in Conversation with Bartholomew Ryan

Dahn Vo visited the Walker Art Center in June 2011 on a site visit to place Tombstone for Phùng Vo (2010) in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The stone will be at the Walkeruntil the death of Vo’s father, Phùng Vo, when it will be shipped to Denmark and placed over his grave in Vestre Kirkegård, a cemetery in Copenhagen. Vo speaks with assistant curator Bartholomew Ryan about the concept for this and other pieces by the artist in the Walker’s collection, as well as the questionable consideration of these works as “objects.”
