Garden Quest Character Profiles: Fortune Teller

Is that a troll under the bridge? Are the gnomes and fairies milling about the Spoonbridge and Cherry? This Saturday the Walker Art Center transforms into a land of magic! Join us for Free First Saturday (Gallery admission is free from 10 am – 5 pm) and step into a realm of art-related fantasy. From 10 am – 3 pm journey on a quest through the Sculpture Garden and Open Field and meet mythical heroes and foes while participating (if you so choose) in challenges in each quadrant! So get ready to make a costume, grab a map, and set forth on your epic adventure!

This blog series will profile some of the many mythical characters you may encounter on this exciting quest, and also give a little background about the real folks playing each magical persona.

GARDEN QUEST CHARACTER PROFILE:
FORTUNE TELLER

Name: Hatcher Starfeeld

Race: Human

Special Powers: Observational, clerical, and actuarial skills, a natural disposition to intimations.

Level/Ability: Mid-level

Class: Bureaucrat

Gear: High powered telescope tuned to the near browersphere, instruments of chance, tomes of reference, rubber stamps, and a magic eight ball.

Garden Quest Activity Description: The Department of Probability and Statistics will be open from 10am-3pm providing an array a divinatory services from general quest related counseling to existential investment advice in order to maintain a healthy level of foresight within the boundaries of the Gardenship.

Eben Kowler

Eben Kowler is an artist and teacher with a diverse background in sculpture, dance, drawing, and puppetry. He has worked with In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater, Minneapolis Art on Wheels, the Midtown Greenway Coalition, Bart Buch, and The Mysterium’s Garage Based Performance Platform. Eben graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he studied art and dance.
