How have the arts impacted your life?

The arts have impacted my life in a positive and illuminating way. It’s a fantastic feeling to experience art and artists in an immersive setting through the many fabulous exhibitions, performances and retrospectives the Walker has presented.

Can you name a favorite exhibition, performance, or film you’ve seen here?

There are so many that have made a lasting impression. One of my favorites was Frida Kahlo (I visited it 6 times!). Seeing her life through her art was both exhilarating and heart-breaking. Another favorite was the Christopher Nolan Dialogue and Retrospective. I love his films, and hearing him speak in detail about his techniques and preferences made me appreciate them all the more.

What do you enjoy about Walker contemporaries?

The Contemporaries make being a Walker member even more exciting and fun. I love how they bring me together with others who appreciate the Walker and want to learn more. I truly enjoy Contemporaries events, most recently the curator-led tour of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and get together at Esker Grove!
